Six VCF Academy graduates in latest Spain squad

The Valencia CF youth system has been a consistent source of talent for ‘La Roja’

The inclusion of Carlos Soler in the latest Spain squad, picked by coach Luis Enrique for the games against Sweden, Georgia and Kosovo, makes the Valencia CF midfielder one of the latest VCF Academy graduates to receive recognition for his country.

Soler has spent his entire career at the club, since joining the youth system at the age of 7. His selection comes after a silver medal-winning effort for Spain at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

He will join up with another of the Valencia CF captains, José Luis Gayà, who is also a product of the VCF Academy and an established player for both club and country.

A further four players in the squad came up through the ranks at the VCF Academy before moves to other clubs: Raúl Albiol, Jordi Alba, Ferran Torres and another newcomer, Abel Ruiz, who spent time at Valencia CF up until the age of 12.
